Lessons, the debut release from The Big Hurt melds elements of Alternative Rock, Reggae, Acid Jazz. Hip Hop, Funk, Drum-n-Bass, Ska, Punk, Latin and Go-Go. Recorded at Waterford Digital in Pasadena, MD with producer Frank Marchand (Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, Toadies and The All Mighty Senators), The Big Hurt went into the studio with a batch of songs reflecting each of the band member’s diverse musical influences. The album’s 10 songs range from heavy guitar driven rock to Acid Jazz melodies over Jungle and Hip-Hop beats to break neck Punk/Ska and Reggae interludes. Although touching on many different musical styles, the result is a singular sound that is at the same time musically complex and refreshingly accessible.
This is Lessons. “If they were easy, they’d be forgotten.”

Race me to the fold I see the end.
Impervious to you I don’t care how low.
So now you know it’s only what you say.
That crash into the page and blaze a
path against the earth and sky.
So how’d you love to go disrupt the change?
This is everything, without a doubt.
This is everything, somewhere.
Race me to the fold I see the end.
As ominous to throw I can’t care how low.
So now you know it’s only what you say.
That amasses into space to raise the
tracks against the dead and died.
So how’d you love to go disrupt the change?
This is everything, without a doubt.
This is everything, somewhere.
So how’d you love to go disrupt the change?
This is everything, without a doubt.
This is everything, somewhere.
